Restylane ®, a wrinkle filler, is a clear, biodegradable, non-animal, stabilized hyaluronic acid (NASHA) gel that acts as a collagen substitute. When injected under the skin, Restylane gel produces volume that can reshape facial contours. Its effects last substantially longer than collagen. Because hyaluronic acid is a natural, fully-biocompatible substance already present in your body, there is no risk of allergic reaction. Restylane is non-inflammatory and non-toxic.
Treatment with Restylane is very quick and easy, generally taking thirty minutes. Dr. Taylor injects the clear gel into the skin in tiny amounts with a very fine needle. The gel produces volume under the skin and helps to reshape facial contours. Most people find the injections painless. Immediately after the treatment, you can expect slight redness, swelling, tenderness, or an itching sensation in the treated area. The discomfort is temporary and generally disappears in a few days.
The results are practically instantaneous, and last for about six months.
